Surviving the Domestic Jungle

Christmas is over! Thank God! I love the holidays..the music, the food, the presents, the merriment…but I love it when it is all over and we are at the dawn of a new year and new possibilities. Im still avoiding all retail stores as this week is the week of returns and the lines are just as long as the lines to purchase! No thank you. The kids had a great Christmas and that is all that matters to me. We did nothing (and I mean nothing) yesterday which was nice but now I feel like a useless slug and I need to get outside and get some exercise! STAT! I am going to bundle up the kids and go for a long walk. My neighborhood sucks for walking but I may venture out in a different direction and live on the edge! There is a park a few minutes down the road and it has trails through the woods which I could walk on but all of my spider senses start tingling and I imagine rapists and murderers lingering behind every bush. Ridiculous I know but I think as a woman, with her small children, you never put yourself in situations where something could happen. You are a sitting very vulnerable duck when you are walking alone with your children along a wooded trail so, it is neighborhood strolls for me. I dont know how the progression of long lines to murderers and rapists in the bushes happened but there you go.
