Today is the day of the dad and I want to take the time and thank two of the men in my life for being wonderful Father’s. First, there’s my step father who is just as much my real father as I am his real daughter. I don’t always understand him and the things he does but it is not my job to figure him out! It is my job to love him just how he is. He is a wonderful grandfather to my girls and is an undercover softie. Love you! To my wonderful husband, thank you for tackling parenthood with me! You are my team mate, my partner and occasionally the referee! We are constantly laughing about these crazy kids and I’m so glad I have you by my side. I love you!
Bare with me a little longer when it comes to my blog. I’m still getting used to it!
Now that my disclaimer is out of the way, I’ll get on with it. My oldest daughter Avery is addicted to clothes. She has literally been dressing herself since she was about a year and a half. She has incredible taste to be honest. Ill ask her opinions on my outfits and she is a 5 year old. She is always asking me if she is “fashion”. She ALWAYS is. She pulls together some really creative outfits. She looks fantastic everyday. The items that are lost on her are jewelry and shoes. That’s where my youngest daughter Hailey steps up to the plate. She is 18 months and ALWAYS has shoes on. They might not be hers and they may be on the wrong feet but she loves shoes. Especially red ones. She falls asleep in her shoes almost every night! Most days she also has on a long necklace. Today I broke one of them getting out of the car. I was expecting a complete meltdown but she held it together. I figure that when they are teenagers this will come in handy for me. I’m hoping they are similar sizes and can just borrow everything from each other or else mommy is going to be broke! These girls are still so young and have so much and I am not the only one guilty of feeding their addictions. They have grandparents who are very generous as well and besides, who doesn’t want to buy their daughters frilly dresse
s and pretty shoes? Either way, I have the best dressed and accessorized daughters in the world and I am very proud of them for developing their own senses of style at such a young age!!
Welcome! I am so happy that my blog is up and running. Surviving the domestic jungle is an idea I came up with over a year ago and I can’t believe it has finally happened! The concept is that the domestic jungle is…… well a jungle and sometimes you aren’t born magically knowing how to be a housewife. Everyday is filled with mistakes but there are also many triumphs and achievements. I plan on blogging everyday about how I am surviving my jungle with the hope that someone somewhere reads it! I have a lot to say and a lot of funny little stories thanks to my crazy kids! My girls are 5 1/2 and 18 months and in some ways they are very similar and in others they couldn’t be more different. It makes for interesting days. Some days I look like a wild animal and other days I feel like I have it all under control and I look like a million bucks. Basically the posts will vary from frazzled mother to calm cool and collected mother! Should be an interesting journey and anyone who wants to come along for the ride is more than welcome!!!!!
